A new outdoor garden furniture and accessory business is opening in Alexandra in Peterkin Place.
Glenn from Countrywide Building Products is offering an interesting range of garden furniture and other related garden items made to order from his workshop just behind the Alexandra Shire Depot in Peterkin Place.
The range is also available at GV Nurseries in Grant st, Alexandra
These include picnic tables, garden seats, gate entries, woodsheds, tank stand, wishing well, plant stands and garden beds, pond bridges and arbors as well as other items made to order.
Glenn who has had over 40 years experience in the building and timber processing industry said “I leant the trade off my father Alan Brooks from Taggerty as well as working at Goulds Sawmill in Alexandra in the 70’s. Working with wood and woodwork machinery has always been a passion for me and I had a timber processing plant and building business in Gippsland for 30 years taking timber from tree to a complete home doing all the kiln drying and machining of wood in the process to make that happen.”
“I moved back to Alexandra a few years ago and although I’ve designed and built hundreds of houses over the years, I prefer to build something these days where I don’t have to climb a ladder to much!”
Glenn still holds his architectural drafting and building licenses and is happy to offer consulting work for house and outbuilding designs.
“I intend to add more items to the range now on offer like gazebos and fantasy garden ‘she’ sheds like you would find in hobbit land or Lord of the Rings! I love art and artistic design, so I am happy to design and build unique garden structures for interested customers!”
“Gardens are a very personal area of a beautiful creation using plants, rocks, soils and structures for both private and public viewing, so I like to get involved in a person’s vision of what they want! I’m just abit older now so it takes me a little longer Glenn says with a chuckle!
